Dear Fellow Rotarians:

We have all watched the news these last few days about the devastation that has occurred as a result of the earthquake and tsunami in the Indian Ocean. We have all felt an overwhelming desire to do something to help the people whose lives have been horribly disrupted while losing their family members, homes, jobs, and every other thing that we take for granted each day we live.

As Rotarians we have always pulled together to help those in need and the time has come for us to do what we can to help. I am leaving for Bangkok, Thailand on February 7, 2005 on a personal trip along with several other Rotarians from our club. We have planned this vacation for several months. I have contacted the Rotary Bangkok South Club and plan to meet with them while we are there.

We are attempting to raise One Million Baht to deliver to the Rotary Bangkok South Club.  One Dollar is worth approximately thirty nine Baht so we will need approximately Twenty Six Thousand Dollars ($26,000.00) to reach our goal. Our intent is to deliver all contributions to the Rotary Bangkok South Club and let them decide where the funds will do the most good.

This letter is asking each of your clubs and club members to contribute to the Rotary District 6110 Tsunami Relief Fund and help us to do our small part to help some of the people who have been ravaged by the disaster. Please make checks payable to Rotary District 6110 Tsunami Relief Fund and send them to:
